About Us

Dedication

Livly's history began when Christopher B. Heward, President of Kronos Science Laboratories in Phoenix, AZ, was diagnosed with terminal esophageal cancer in October 2008.  Doctors gave him no chance of surviving the year, even with the best available standard of care.  Chris chose to forego the so-called "palliative" chemotherapy treatment and focus on experimental immunotherapies.  However, his cancer progressed too fast to organize the most promising treatments.  Chris passed away in January 2009.  Thank you, Chris, for being a wonderful teacher and friend.  We miss you.

Inspired by Chris’ leadership, Eri and John founded Livly in order to take a more direct role in fighting cancer.  They could not continue to turn their backs on this mission while only waiting, watching and hoping that other loved ones would not also be victims of cancer.
